Testimony of Lance Gentry

In February of 2010 The Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog Association indiscriminately and with malice attempted to soil the reputation of Spartan Bulldogs by making false accusations. Their contention is that Spartan Bulldog Kennels is a banned breeder of the ABBA.

Spartan Bulldogs has never been nor have they ever alluded to being an ABBA breeder.

As a CKC (http://www.continentalkennelclub.com) breeder we are not subject to the ABBA By-Laws and C.O. E. We are proud to have absolutely no association with the ABBA.
The ABBA accusations are as follows:
1) Defamation of the ABBA
2) Dual Registering dogs

1.2 Members will at all times display good sportsmanship and conduct themselves in such a manner as to reflect positive credit upon the ABBA and the breed.

6.4 No ABBA registered Alapaha should be dual registered with any other 3rd Party organization (Registries that require no proven Alapaha heritage like the ARF, ACA, UCA, URBA, IOEBA, OREBA, NKC, CKC, DRA and WWKC).

While it is true that our foundation bitch CRKs Timber Gentry had initially been registered with the ABBA, our decision to register Timber with the CKC forfeited her ABBA registration. Our website clearly displays Timbers CKC registration and makes no mention of the ABBA registration.

The ABBAs accusation of failing to display good sportsmanship and reflect positively on the breed is blatantly libelous and a defamation of our reputation.

While our foundation dogs are direct descendants from both the CRK and SBB lines from the very beginning we have verified all our stock and breeding via DNA testing and microchip. Our breeding and verification standards exceed what is currently required by the ABBA. Additionally our training standards, without question, place our dogs in the highest percentile of working bulldogs in the nation.

The ABBAs reputation for being irresponsible and inattentive to their member’s needs is long standing. ABBA registered dogs are not accepted by the North American Ring Association and the registry is scarcely recognized outside the show community of the Alapaha Bulldog. Additionally the ABBAs legitimacy has been challenged many times over the past decade.

Despite the ABBA and their board members malicious and libelous attempt to defame Spartan Bulldog Kennels we will continue to register our dogs through Continental Kennel Club. The ABBAs baneful and punitive actions will only serve to instill further dissension among Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog owners and breeders.

As few breeders and owners truly test their dogs will, determination, drive and health the ABBAs shortsightedness will prove counterproductive to the further advancement of high performance Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs.

Spartan Bulldog Kennels breeds seldom and selectively. A substantial amount of time, research and testing is vested into our breedings. We take great pride in the dogs we produce. Should the ABBA continue in their malevolent libelous campaign to compromise the reputation of the Spartan Bulldog Kennels our response will be to take legal action against the ABBA, their officers and board members under California Civil Code sections 45-53 & 3425.
